2026 Taurus New Moon
NEW MOON IN TAURUS 25°57’
This Taurus New Moon is asking us to slow down, simplify, & plant seeds for a stable future that will survive the new paradigm. Savor this lunar moment, ground in your values, & commit your whole body to your vision by taking consistent, embodied steps. As this lunar story unfolds, remember your power & don’t lose your head.
In a previous blog post, I mentioned how the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) have the job of extending, stabilizing, & fixating their season & element, so any destabilizing forces (such as Uranus & eclipses) tend to impact these signs more dramatically than other modalities.
Taurus, the Fixed Earth sign ruled by harmony & pleasure-loving Venus, desires the most security in this material realm. It wants consistent reminders that it can sense in the body that it’s safe to express its energy & do its thing.
Uranus entered Taurus hours after the 2016 Taurus New Moon where it stayed for 8 years until last month! It's still conjoining this New Moon, but is now in Gemini. This will also be the only lunation in Taurus that doesn’t have Chiron sitting in it until 2034!
⏪ Rewind to 8 years ago during the 2018 Taurus New Moon:
Security & sensuality may have felt anything but that since the 2018 Taurus season when Uranus entered Taurus less than 4 hours following the May 2018 Taurus New Moon. Earlier during the same Taurus season, Chiron entered Aries, making us face wounds related to our autonomy, initiative, & (re)actions. Finally, the moon’s nodes at the time were also in fellow fixed signs of the Leo-Aquarius axis, asking us where our power & creative expression really came from.
▶️ Presently for this 2026 Taurus New Moon:
Uranus just left Taurus while Chiron is at the end degrees of Aries & the lunar nodes are about to move back into the Leo-Aquarius axis. Same signs, but with the degrees & directions (for the nodes) at the other end. We made it through & are now on the other side.
The past 8 years (& the current Pluto Rx in Aquarius) have made it painfully clear where our values were misplaced & where we may have lost ourselves through outsourcing our power. It’s time for us to reflect on what it truly would feel like in our individual meatsuits to be safe to be ourselves.
Take one from My Chemical Romance in their “Famous Last Words” & be awake & unafraid.
⏩ Fast-forward (what’s coming up along this lunation story from May 2026-May 2027):
The next two lunations involving Taurus will include the Taurus Full Moon on October 25-26, 2026 where Venus (the ruling planet of Taurus) & Mercury will be Retrograde (Rx) & involved in a T-Square to Pluto. This will close out during the next Taurus New Moon on May 6, 2027 which will then have Chiron in Taurus.
What this lunation story means is that after planning for the secure future we hope for during the Taurus New Moon, Chiron will visit Taurus in mid-June, asking us to heal & master wounds related to our worth, values, & stubbornness. Chiron will return back into Aries in mid-September, shortly before Venus goes Rx. This upcoming Venus Rx will test our commitments, & the Taurus Full Moon will illuminate how collective challenges will individually impact our relationships & our needs. It’ll be critical during this time to remember how we each bring something unique to the communal table.
Recognize that by honoring our light & core values, we’ll not only reclaim our power, but also contribute it to the greater whole & vision.
Like an ensemble whose magic comes from each individual contributing their unique voice & part to the whole, let’s make & face the music together.
Notable Nuances
(For fellow astro/data-nerds)
Here are the prominent aspects to this lunation:
Taurus’ ruling planet Venus is in Gemini
Sextile Mars & Chiron in Aries
Conjoining Mercury in Taurus
Conjoining Uranus in Gemini
Sextile Neptune in Aries
Sextile Jupiter in Cancer
Trine Pluto in Aquarius
Squaring the Nodes
*Conjoining Algol
After dealing with so much conflict & challenge to our power & values, this lunation is asking us what are we willing to do about everything that’s been shaken up? Where is the Star after our Tower moment?
Venus & Uranus in Gemini wants you to get curious about your values. Uranus specifically wants you to be open to different & even shocking revelations. Mars/Chiron/Neptune in Aries with Mercury in Taurus wants simplified, immediate answers for your vision.
Be emboldened to move your ideas from inside your head & out into the world (paper, text, out loud, etc.). FEEL yourself expressing them. HEAR &/or SEE them outside of your mind. Manifest new beginnings for self-worth & abundance, then act on it! Enlist community support & don’t be afraid to try something entirely new.
We’re also at a nodal crossroads with how we find fulfillment in serving & surrendering to the greater whole. This is where we need to remember the “oxygen mask” principle in that in order to best assist others, you have to get yourself situated & serve/save yourself first. From there, do your best & hope/surrender for the rest. Jupiter, the great benefic, is more than happy in Cancer to be a guardian angel at this time.
*Special note: This lunation is conjunct with the Fixed Star Algol which is at 26’ Taurus. While I’m not comfortable discussing Fixed Stars in astrology at this time (or asteroids just yet as Ceres is also in this conjunction), since my Mars is also at 26’ Taurus, it personally behooves me to look into this particular Fixed Star. There are many trigger warnings involved with Algol’s correspondences since its mythology involves betrayal & the literal & violent severing of Medusa’s head. Figuratively, this point of Taurus is associated more with the dark feminine & the tragedies that may befall someone when they have coveted Venusian properties &/or losing one’s head. So savor this energy, but make sure you’re also protecting yourself through discerning where your power is being taken away.
PROMPTS
We’re being gifted an opportunity to pause & reflect on what our bodies need for security & stability after being shaken up for the past 8 years.
(In addition to the Taurus New Moon on May 15, 2018, consider what was going on for you during the Taurus/Scorpio eclipse cycle from 2021-2023, particularly the Taurus Lunar Eclipse that occurred close to this same degree on November 19, 2021.)
What previously stable areas of your life have experienced the most transformation (perhaps forcefully)?
What needs have persisted?
How has meeting (or not meeting) these needs manifested in our body?
What is the root of those needs?
What does this reveal about our values?
How can we voice & take action on these needs to nurture & grow them in this new landscape?
SUGGESTIONS
Treat yourself to an indulgent experience & reflect on the prompts above ☝️
Soaking in a relaxing & aesthetically pleasing bath while munching on dark chocolate? Yes, please!
Slow down & reclaim some wholesome shows for creative inspiration
What immediately comes to mind: Delicious in Dungeons, Mashle: Magic and Muscles, & Bon Appetit, Your Majesty!
Start a new workout routine; enlist a friend for accountability, or try a fitness class
Plant a literal seed & grow something that can physically nourish you
Similarly, join a community garden/co-op & establish a produce (or service) exchange with others
Diversify your assets &/or start something towards a future income stream (perhaps using Air outlets, like publishing, social connections, internet, etc.)
Taurus is also associated with the throat, so this is a great time to vocalize your desires
Make it a truly enjoyable experience & sing it out solo or in community (karaoke time)!
Try the grounding technique & Taurus New moon spell below 👇
SUGGESTED SPELL
Some of you may have heard or seen the 5-4-3-2-1 sensory grounding technique which is also a great way for us to scan our bodies & cope with challenging emotions. This technique can be used anywhere, but if you want to really get into the Taurus energy, create a comfortable space for yourself.
For this Taurus New Moon, I suggest doing this for your present self as well as your ideal self for manifestation purposes.
Instructions
OBSERVE & list off the following in your present moment (15 total things):
👀 5 things you can see🖐️ 4 things you can touch &/or physically feel
👂 3 things you can hear
👃 2 things you can smell
👅 1 thing you can taste
MEET yourself at your present moment with grace. Thank yourself for pausing to “smell the roses” & really pay attention to how you’re feeling about your current state.
CONSIDER what security is as it pertains to your unique senses & tastes.
Now holding this idealized version of security in mind - what would it look/feel/sound/smell/taste like? IMAGINE the sensory grounding technique above, but as your timejumped future self.
REVIEW this list of 15 senses that your future self desires to experience in order to feel secure enough to pause & indulge in the pleasantries - which of these future senses is something you can consistently include in your current life to feel even slightly more secure? IDENTIFY 1 sense you can ritualize consistently over the next 6-months.
Take embodied ACTION on your chosen sense.
For example, if your ideal self is smelling roses & you don’t have any regular access to that scent at this time, perhaps invest in a rose-scented candle, lotion, or live rose bush. You may also plant rose seeds, &/or buy yourself fresh roses regularly (like every Friday).
THANK yourself for taking more time to dream & hope.
BONUS: Review your list/progress come the Taurus Full Moon on October 25/26, 2026. Shift &/or integrate another sense as time goes on.

Author's note: Immediately after this Taurus New Moon, I’ll be doing readings at two in-person events back-to-back. Yay for abundance! (You can find out more about those events in the previous post “May Astrology.”) The following weekend, I’ll be attending NORWAC & taking a long, scenic drive back home. While I aim to get the Sagittarius Full Moon blog & June Astrology blog posts out in time (if at all), I need to be conservative with my capacity. Please excuse any delay or drop in reports; I appreciate your understanding!
Until next time!
