2026 April Astrology
Welcome to the Martian mosh-pit that is April 2026 where all planets are direct & the theme of the month is F.A.F.O.
In the spirit of Aries - the bold & impetuous newborn of our zodiac - I’m going to put things out here more bluntly.
I made this collage in April 2025 centered around the Mars-inspired art by Alex Cabal, which is why there is an “Rx” over both Mercury & Venus. While neither of those planets are retrograde this month, I didn’t have any desire to create a new piece & felt this was still relevant for this April. The other Fool card is from the Sinagtala Tarot.
Did you know that in the Tarot, The Fool is attributed to Uranus while The Tower is attributed to Mars? Both planets are significant this month!
APRIL 2026
April 1st
Full Moon in Libra
The most peaceful part of this month is the start of it with the Full Moon in Libra on April 1st, & it all objectively goes downhill from there for the majority of us. I wish that this was an April Fool’s Day joke, but if you know me, I don’t tend to joke around. Take full advantage of this calm before the storm to (re)gain a sense of inner peace & equilibrium. You’re going to need it.
Author’s note: As I type this, the crew of the Artemis II is prepping for take-off on the first crewed mission to & around our moon since 1972. The journey to the moon & back will be around 10 days, which takes up what looks to be the least challenging portion of this month. I’m sure there will be much more globally significant event that play out this month, but a multi-national lunar journey on the day of the pink full moon in Libra makes me smile.
April 3rd
Venus squares Pluto
Unless you’re ready for psychological depth & obsessiveness when it comes to your values & relationships, this will probably be a more intense & challenging Venus-ruled Friday as values, relationships, & desires demand transformation & sacrifice. This is not an energy you want to prolong, & especially not an energy you want to live with. Don’t ask me how I know.
April 9th-16th
Mars enters Aries & conjoins Neptune
Mercury leaves its post-retrograde shadow
Mercury enters Aries & conjoins Neptune
Mars returns to its home sign of Aries & is immediately confused as to what Neptune & Saturn are doing in its home, so it starts a cosmic mosh pit. Mercury leaves its Retrograde shadow on this same day & starts speeding forward, adding fuel to the fire on April 14th.
This is a lot of both Martian & martial energy mid-month that may collectively play out as impulsive actions for the sake of forcing forward movement without realizing the gravity of the consequences. For the majority of us, we may feel confusion, frustration, & disempowerment as individuals in the midst of this inflammatory & hostile time. The macrocosmic effects of war may have us unexpectedly lashing out &/or projecting our fears & frustrations inappropriately in the microcosm. Remember that while Saturn, planet of adulting, in Aries is warning us to put on the brakes a bit lest we do anything we may regret. Regret is what Mercury may bring up as it follows Mars into the pit.
April 17th
New Moon in Aries
By the time the Aries New Moon occurs on the 17th, we will all likely be tender & desperate for a fresh start in which we (re)claim our power & autonomy. This is especially true as this new moon will be conjoining “the wounded healer” Chiron at the edges of Aries all while Neptune, Mercury, Mars, & Saturn continue to take up space & quite possibly start fires.

Mercury conjunction with Mars & Saturn in Aries
After the mid-month New Moon, the cosmic cluster**** continues to intensify until both Mars & Saturn ram into each other on the 19th. This matchup of malefics will likely be intense, so it will be a collective relief for us all when Sun peaces out of Aries 3 hours later & enters the grounded, slower-paced sign of Taurus.
While the malefics are engaging in war (with Mars dominating because it’s on home turf while Saturn is completely debilitated), the benefics - Venus & Jupiter - are doing the most trying to keep things together throughout most of this month. Fortunately for us, both Venus & Jupiter are in signs they are very satisfied being in (Jupiter in its favorite place in Cancer).
April 23rd-25th
Venus & Uranus conjunction in Taurus

Uranus enters Gemini
Venus returned to one of its home signs of Taurus on March 30th & will remain here until April 23rd/24th (depending on timezone) when Venus enters Gemini. Just 2 hours prior to this ingress, Venus will have a date with the eccentric Uranus, who has been disrupting an otherwise serene, simple, & secure Taurus landscape for the past 8 years. Uranus will then follow Venus’ invitation into the more social & flighty landscape on the 25th.
A Cardinal Calling
For Cardinal placements, this mashup in Aries may feel particularly activating & stressful. While everyone will be overwhelmed at this time, here's how the warring Aries energy may feel like for each season’s leaders:
♈ Aries: All major Aries placements - Aries Rising, Sun, Moon, North Node, MC, & Saturn - the warrior & first responder in you is up & being summoned to lead the vanguard. Your ruler, Mars, has the home field advantage. This is your Judgement moment, but be aware what you're dropping into may feel like you're entering the realm of Dark Souls. Be cognizant of where & who you’re directing your desire to act this month (as well as your temper) to minimize on self-induced problems.
♋ Cancer: You'll likely be physically, emotionally, & psychically feeling the distress caused by the crumbling of the collective, which will activate your innate gift of providing an emotional foundation & being the much-needed therapy friend. Find comfort knowing you're still receiving the generous blessings of the great benefic Jupiter through to the end of June. In being the nurturing expert, take care not to let your own spoons & cups run out. You may feel a lot of tension in your career & public image space, so energetically cleanse yourself often (especially with actual water) at this time.
♎ Libra: What connections can be made when the other party continuously compels people against each other? As you scramble around trying to figure out allies, negotiations, & any semblance of diplomacy, know that this is temporary & that inner peace may be found from stepping back to find your own voice first so you know which battles are worth becoming an advocate for. Venus, your ruler, is enjoying itself in its other abode in Taurus for the majority of this month. Despite this sign being somewhat unfamiliar to you, you can gain much from slowing down & being present. After April 24th, Venus moves into fellow Air sign, Gemini, & you'll feel the winds of change! Hang in there!
♑ Capricorn: You're getting headaches watching the world burn from your ideal station way up high where you can stay focused on the bigger picture. After creating & faithfully pursuing your previous multi-year plan, this is feeling like a Tower moment, causing you to shift & create a new strategy starting from your own roots & home life. There's a lot of work needed to build a sustainable economy in this new paradigm, & once again, you're feeling like a reluctant hero in the middle of an apocalypse. Keep grounded & remember that you're ruled by Daddy Time-Lord Saturn who’ll reward your resilience & discernment in which fires to tend to at this time.

SUGGESTION
In the days leading up to the April 17th Aries New Moon, reflect on what wounds need to be purified by fire in order to ignite the new version of you that instinctively wants to be born.
Don’t overthink this.
Aries rules the head & is symbolized by the ram. It charges ahead via primal instinct, so consider what in you wants to burst through.
Release some steam to clear the path forward. I recommend a rage room, intense workout, and/or angry karaoke.

Author’s note: At the time of posting this, my family & private environment are literally & very chaotically all over the place. There’s simply too much going on in this Aries-ruled area of my life (the 4th House), & my IC is at 0’ Taurus which will be personally activated throughout this month.
I’m a Cap Rising & stellium with a Libra Moon, so this month’s full moon in the same sign is illuminating the fact that in order to create the inner peace I desperately need, I must (temporarily) release stress from as many other areas of my life in order to (re)gain the capacity to handle & harness all this Martian focus.
Thus, I’m combining lunar reports this month as the best I can do for my sanity right now is unplug as much as I can from work. I’m hoping for the best, knowing that this too shall pass.
