2026 Capricorn Full Moon

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN 08Β°14’

Cue the battle training montage music! We’re facing a new world sooner than you’d like & Saturn needs you ready to build your part of it. πŸͺ

In the 2013 film, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, there is a scene where our dreamer protagonist is pursuing a goal which involves climbing up a literal mountain when he gets a call from those back home.

With the air being so thin that high up & exhausted from his ascent, he answers the call & establishes some very understandable boundaries at once with a β€œI'm gonna keep this short…I have to make oxygen choices.”

Watch the no-spoiler scene
here.

During my June astrology overview, I mentioned harnessing our inner mama bear, putting on an oxygen mask, & diving into Cancer season.

What may surprise some people is that Capricorn is not only a goat, but a sea goat. I don’t remember who said it, but I recall hearing that as a sea goat, no matter how much it climbs, it still has a tail splashing around & keeping it tethered to the waters of collective memory, meaning it still has to deal with its feelings while pursuing its goals.

That said, it gets a lot of heat about being β€œdetached” from the warm fuzzies because it is ruled by the furthest traditional planet, Saturn, whose restrictive rings keep it ever so mindful of karmic patterns & lessons it has to resolve in order to achieve fulfillment.

This is important as Saturn, the ruler of this Full Moon, is currently in the sign of Aries making a square to the luminaries (the Moon in Capricorn & the Sun in Cancer).

With this lunation occurring just after Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer (near the same point where Venus & Jupiter met up earlier this month on June 9th) & everything that has played out since, the energy I’m picking up on is this:

Look around at how our authority figures & institutions are (mis)handling our homefront, pressuring us more & more each day to take matters into our own hands (Aries/Aquarius) in order to protect our own & the ones we love (Cancer).

For a further look into how I’m making this assessment based on the cosmic energies surrounding this lunation (including a lesson on Saturn), read on.

Scene from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie when an enraged Katniss has to be reminded who the real enemy is while fighting the for her life.

I originally shared this image in my 2026 Scorpio Full Moon post, but it’s still incredibly relevant since Saturn in Aries feels like training in practicing discernment on the fly in the midst of survival-level obstacles. With everything else going on in the background of our current reality, remembering who the real enemy is will become an increasingly louder plea.

Notable Nuances

(For fellow astro/data-nerds)

This is the first Capricorn lunation where its ruler, Saturn, is in Aries as the Capricorn lunations since 2024 have had Saturn in Pisces.  The last time we had a Capricorn Full Moon with Saturn in Aries was July 1, 1996 at 9Β°35’ Capricorn. (Interestingly, the Moon we had approximately 30 years ago also has Saturn squaring the luminaries.)

This time, there is support from the nodes of fate (that are still along the Pisces/Virgo axis of service & healing) that form a trine to the luminaries. This makes it easier for us to innerstand the gravity of needing to take personal responsibility for how our individual legacies will continue to carry out from this moment.

It won't be easy to apply as Neptune & Saturn square the luminaries at the same time, but once we figure out what needs to be done for the sake of autonomy AND take action on it, the rewards will come…eventually. πŸ˜… (Saturn is all about delayed gratification, which is also why its energy isn't the most naturally expressed in the sign of Aries.)

To assist us in our efforts, Mercury will be stationing Retrograde hours earlier in the sign of Cancer, which wants us to go within & reconnect with our intuition & memory of what feels safe enough to hold big emotions.

Venus, planet of our earthly values, harmony, & all things pleasing, will also be in big-hearted Leo making a trine to this lunation's ruler, Saturn. This means that when we remember & identify what we love unapologetically, we can use that as inspiration to lead the way through the hard work.

  • Think about any time you may have put on some of your favorite songs to get through tasks, or seen someone else do so. Now imagine a bunch of people doing so for a cause. War/work songs inspire for a reason!

Surely, what happens above will affect us below, & what we do in our personal lives will affect how we show up in the collective. Mars, planet of aggression & forceful willpower, has officially moved in Gemini as of yesterday & is making its way to an exact meeting with chaotic & revolutionary Uranus on July 4th, but not before squaring off with the true lunar nodes hours after this lunation.

If you’ve been feeling an increase in concerning restlessness, you’re not alone.

With grandiose Jupiter moving closer to opposing extremist Pluto during this Full Moon, we’ll need this stern illumination to brace us for what’s to come as the outer planets aspect each other in an incredibly rare basket-looking formation* that invites the collective to support each other through what promises to be intense times ahead...lest we become basket cases.

*Look up β€œBarbault Basket” as connected to French Astrologer AndrΓ© Barbault. It deserves its own post, which I currently have no capacity to do, so I recommend checking out astrologers who do a deep dive of this topic such as Dan Waites from the World Astrology Report.

ASTROLOGY 101

Something that is also reaching its culmination during this lunation is my work with the Dark Femme Collective, a group shadow work coaching container that I've been involved with over the past couple of years.

Earlier this year, we started a new 6-month cohort in which I helped author the astrological accompaniment to the monthly wound archetype. For June, our focus was on healing the Father Wound. Naturally, I chose to write about Saturn (IYKYK). Below is an excerpt of my written contribution to that collective.

SATURN

Key Words: Accountability, β€œadulting,” ancestors, authority, boundaries, challenges, conservation, cyclical lessons, death, delayed gratification, depression, discipline, government,  grandparents, harvest, inheritances, karma, leadership, limitation, mastery, maturity, misfortune, planning, prevention, professionalism, prudence, reality-checks, resilience, responsibility, restrictions, rewards, rigidity, stoic, structure, sustainability, the Father, time, training

Ah, β€œDaddy” Saturn…the planet of β€œadulting” & all things that loom ominously & cycle back around (like mortality).

In mythology, Saturn is the Roman equivalent of the Greek God, Cronus. As with the other celestial bodies, knowing its mythology is relevant as Saturn’s astrological equivalent ultimately represents what karma needs to be addressed, structures need be in place, & challenges overcome in order to enjoy sustainable harvest.

Saturn’s main lesson for us comes through delayed gratification & stepping up to do something the ethically β€œright” way consistently in order to be richly rewarded. What can stand its tests of time.

It is β€œthe Great Malefic”  planet associated with the rings that surround & restrict it like training wheels.

Saturn’s rings are also associated with cycles of karma, & one’s Saturn reveals an area of life where we face continuous delays & hardships that are later rewarded upon responsibly learning & integrating one’s lessons.

Saturn rules both Capricorn & Aquarius (the latter prior to Uranus being discovered) as they both have to do with structures, despite facing them in very different ways.

The Moon & Saturn have cycles that are relative to each other with an approximate ratio of 1 day to 1 year; the Moon has a 28-31 day cycle around the earth while Saturn has a 27-30 year cycle around the Sun.

Major Saturn aspects happen around the following ages & repeats itself every 27-30 years:

  • Age 28-30: Saturn Conjunction a.k.a. Saturn Return

    • Corresponds to the maturing of the pre-frontal cortex

    • Karmic lessons come to a head, challenging you to face them head on

  • Age 33-34: Saturn Sextile (Waxing)

  • Age 35-37: Saturn Square (1Q)

    • Age 36: When Saturn is fully considered β€œmatured”

    • Squares: crisis of commitment to whatever was initiated upon recognizing the lessons & correction needed during the most recent Saturn Return.

    • Anything that was previously procrastinated or faced improperly will become louder at this time.

  • Age 40-41: Saturn Trine (Waxing)

  • Age 42-44: Saturn Opposition

    • Part of the set of β€œmidlife crisis” transits

    • Saturn’s β€œFull Moon” illuminating moment for what all you’ve accomplished (or not) since Saturn returned a decade & a half ago to check in on your individual contribution to society. This transit has the potential for some breakthrough milestone achievements IF we’ve been putting in the work.

  • Age 47-48: Saturn Trine (Waning)

  • Age 51-53: Saturn Square (3Q)

  • Age 55-56: Saturn Sextile (Waning)

Each Saturn aspect gives you a chance to address karmic lessons & β€œadult” responsibly in order to fulfill your karmic contract across multiple lifetimes. Acknowledgement & healthy integration of Saturn’s lessons will yield rewards while delays & avoidance causes karma to continue looping until the next Saturn aspect arrives again, offering yet another opportunity to cosmically course-correct yourself.

Saturn in Aries demands discernment & responsibility in the face of chaos, conflict, & aggression.

If you’re looking for a series to binge that is extremely relevant to this lunar energy & the T-Square forming between the Sun in Cancer, Moon in Capricorn, & Saturn in Aries, I HIGHLY suggest HBO’s House of the Dragon.

To prevent spoilers, I won’t go further into this meme. For those who would rather read the source material for this show (George R.R. Martin’s book, Fire & Blood), know that there were changes to the battle that resulted in this meme.

RECOMMENDED ACTIVITIES

As a reminder, while you may consider these recommendations to be more potent & aligned nearer to the actual moment of any event, these recommendations can be done at any time as intention & heart transcends linear time (as we typically tend to think of it).

Every good warrior knows that it’s important to train all aspects of character - one’s physical, mental, emotional, & spiritual capacities - in order to navigate any terrain. Since Capricorn is the most mature earth sign related to mastery & world-building, it’s time to get training!

  • Ground in & get to work!

    • Find an activity that calls to you that will help motivate you to continue grinding through life. Capricorn mastery involves knowing that rest is as sacred as work too.

      • For example, I’ll be attending a beginner trapeze class tonight, combining my interests in a fun way with all-around boosts to my being!

    • Harness Mercury Rx in Cancer & Venus in Leo & create a playlist of nostalgic bangers that would provide the soundtrack to your training montage scenes as you level up.

    • Enlist your loved ones to work on projects (including working out) that need to get done.

      • Perhaps ask them to contribute to said playlist &/or sing work songs with you for motivation.

    • That said, take ample time for solitary self-development where you can return to yourself without any other external influences. This will help you get clear on what’s really important to you.

Capricorn is also attributed to the business person. With ruling planet Saturn being in Aries, this also puts more emphasis on entrepreneurship.

  • If you have your own business (or have been wanting to start one), take the Mercury Rx period (June 29-Jul 23, 2026) to reflect on how far you’ve come since mid January of this year & make revisions, including any plans for a rebrand. Now is the time for needed reassessments before proceeding to the next phase of your entrepreneurial endeavors.

  • If you don’t have your own business or have any intentions on having one, perhaps see how you can support your local small business more in order to give more power back to the people you know vs the conglomerates that may no longer be in touch with current community needs. Even if it’s not in purchasing directly from your local small business owner, can you keep them on your mind to recommend to others? Get creative & take care of one another! Every successful adventure party has a network of people with various specialties & services after all.

Saturn in Aries also asks us to know ourselves & where we came from in order to learn our lessons & move forward

SPECIAL RECOMMENDATION - PAST LIFE WORK πŸ‘€

A concept I've heard repeatedly in Evolutionary Astrology is that one's natal chart shows your soul's karma that is ripe to work through in this current life. While I can't speak on karma from its cultural origins, my understanding & assigned meaning to β€œkarma” is based on its connection to emotional pain & unfinished business that persists after one's physical body is no more. Karma thus manifests as repeating scenarios providing opportunities for closure & healing.

Is this not the description of growing pains - encountering challenges & choosing to confront them in order to level up your character?

That said, what I like about doing soul work (in a safe space) is that the downloads you receive are only the ones that you are typically ready, willing, & able to do something about.

For me, any session that involves some sort of soul remembering (consider the etymology of re-membering vs. dis-membering) has been booked from a place of wanting clarity, support, & healing around something that is currently hurting. From there, a sacred space is opened where I'm invited to elaborate on my feelings & intentions, then I'm guided to a place in another realm/life that locates the source of my current pain.

This does the following:

  • Gives me validation that I'm not β€œcrazy” - my wounds & responses go deeper than my current reality. This entire field of work to identify & alchemize the roots of one's harmful patterns exists because there is a need on this plane to do so.

  • Gives me the motivation to end the cycle not just for me as I am now, but also for the part of my soul that longed for healing & didn't get it before their time was up.

  • (When you do this with a specialist), you're supported to release a past version of yourself with love & compassion, then are empowered to do something about it going forward with additional ideas, tools, & a plan of action.

At the time of writing this, the practitioners below are the currently-practicing professionals I have had repeated experience with & can therefore recommend.

  • Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, & Past Life Regressions (HTX): Laura Ramirez with Vivid Life Therapy

    • LPC, CSC, LCDC

    • Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist

    • Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist

  • Akashic Records & Reiki (NY/NJ): Ari Selene

  • Akashic Records, Mediumship, & Reiki (ATX): Samara Seren

  • Akashic Records, Mediumship, & Reiki (HTX): Susie Star

Feel free to ask me any questions regarding my experiences with this work & the aforementioned providers. Getting curious about & taking a glimpse into past lives is one of my most recommended β€œbucket-list” items & is incredibly Saturnian & healing. Take advantage of this access.

Seriously, I would not be where I am today if not for these (& many more) folks healing in this space. Eternally grateful that we have access to this. πŸ™

PROMPTS FOR REFLECTION

Prior to the discovery of Pluto, Saturn was the end planet of our visible zodiac & thus associated with death & what outlasts you (including karma).

  • What do you want your reputation &/or legacy to look like?

  • What oxygen choices do you need to make now in order to reach your personal markers of achievement & legacy?

  • How can your desire for legacy & personal growth support & be supported by the direction of where the collective is moving?

Consider what was going on around January 18, 2026 during the Capricorn New Moon that included a stellium of planets in Capricorn & Aquarius. This was while Saturn (the ruler of both signs aforementioned) was at the end of Pisces, demanding energetic & spiritual discipline & maturity.

  • Did anything reveal itself?

  • Did something dissolve?

This Capricorn Full Moon is the climax of that story, illuminating what obstacles were necessary in order to shape us towards the future we desire, & what work remains to be reflected upon & revised over the next 6 months to formally close this chapter.

BONUS: If you were alive during the previous Capricorn Full Moon with Saturn in Aries on July 1, 1996 at 9Β°35’ Capricorn, what was going on for & around you in your life?

IN SHORT

Capricorn energy is about sizing up the mountain ahead, developing the resilience to get to the top, then reflecting on the big picture once there. The thing to remember is you still have to come back down the mountain.

That said, the trip down is usually much easier as you get the sense of achievement while also being rewarded with denser oxygen revitalizing you the closer you make it back down to the ground.

Use this Mercury Rx in Cancer to reflect on what environment & emotional support you need for your dreams to flourish, retrace your steps back down, & respond to your current environment with refinement.

The real world needs you sooner than you think, so make those oxygen choices & strap in; we’ve got new terrain to figure out.

Author's note: This Full Moon is occurring near my Capricorn Ascendant & stellium while Mercury Rx in Cancer continues to dance around my Chiron. In short, I’m in a tender place & may fully retreat next month (July) in order to take my own advice & make essential oxygen choices. I’m currently publishing this after Mercury has already stationed Rx, so we’ll see.

Until next time!
